Should you get a Dual Exhaust Kit?

Exhaust systems in cars are meant for the exit of burnt air and fuel mixture out of the engine. It makes the engine space for the entry of fresh air and fuel mixture so that the new combustion cycles can be started. This cycle continues rapidly making engine drive the vehicle.

Under dual exhaust kit, there are two different exhaust pipes within an engine making the exit of burnt or used air and fuel mixture from a different set of cylinders.

What is Dual Exhaust Kit?

Dual exhaust kit is a specification which needs to be provided for enhancing the performance of the engine. Difference due to Dual exhaust engine depends upon the engine type and size. From the manufacturer’s angle, generally, cars or motorbikes coming with large engines like V-6 or V-8 come fitted with twin cylinder or performance cars have dual exhaust kit as an inclusive part. However, nowadays many people are using Dual Exhaust kit in the cars irrespective of the engine size for enhancing looks.

Dual exhaust kit for looks can be put to the car in multiple ways. Sometimes, the complete exhaust system is used to be changed with new exhaust kit which is a Y shaped having a single pipe of small length that can be found in the beginning and later can be distributed in two outlet pipes.

Does Dual Exhaust Kit really make Any Difference?

Does Dual Exhaust Kit make any difference? Let’s see how the performance of your automobile changes with normal four-cylinder engines or heavy engines.

  • Normal four-cylinder engines are generally not equipped with dual exhaust kit by the manufacturers. However, in case if a user prefers for using the dual exhaust kit in such engines, it would not make a certain difference. Only if the engine is powered by Turbo charger as by the turbo charger speed of engine/cylinder to replace burnt the air and fuel mixture with fresh air and fuel mixture increases. This will enhance the cycle time of this replacement as the dual exhaust is utilized giving the user a better experience of speed and power.
  • For a heavy engine that has more than four cylinders like V-6 or V-8, the engine itself comes with dual exhaust kit as the amount of air and fuel burnt by such a large engine with a large array of cylinders will be high in volume. It will be difficult for a single exhaust system to make them exit thereby making the entire engine choked.
  • Dual exhaust kit enables large engines to make replacement of burnt air and fuel at high speed matching the induction speed. Two different pipes with its system parts are connected to a separate group of cylinders which means a particular exhaust system is responsible for exhaust of its group of cylinders only.  For matching the frequency of both the exhaust system from a different set of cylinders of a single engine dual exhaust is connected in H shape.
The two-separate set of exhaust enables engine to have no backpressure from exiting mixture on the entering mixture therefore, it enhances the horsepower. Apart from better horsepower of the engine, dual exhaust system helps engine to remain cooler as frequency of entering the fresh air is higher so, making engine cooler and enhancing engine life and performance.

Dual exhaust kit also has deeper exhaust sound, which is revered by many. Deeper sound gives feel of powerful engines and so, currently it is known to be a style statement. Also, it is in trend as well. More horsepower gives the rider a throbbing feel and experience of driving a beast in machine. If you are an avid driver, you should try getting this installed!!
